$275 million expansion coming to Disney’s Swan and Dolphin

The project will create the largest event and meeting space on Disney property

Exciting Renovations and Expansions at Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Hotels

Walt Disney World has unveiled plans for a significant renovation and expansion of its popular Swan and Dolphin hotels, set to create the largest event space in the resort.

This three-hotel complex includes the Dolphin Resort, the Swan, and the Swan Reserve, all conveniently located next to Epcot. According to GrowthSpotter, the recent announcement details the addition of 120,000 square feet of meeting space, bringing the total event space to an impressive 469,000 square feet.

The 4-star hotel complex, owned by Tishman and managed by Marriott, will see a new two-story annex constructed on a portion of a parking lot adjacent to the Dolphin Resort’s existing convention space. The design of this expansion will harmonize with the current convention building, ensuring a seamless integration

The first floor will offer 41,000 square feet of versatile multi-purpose space along with 24,000 square feet dedicated to pre-function areas, such as lobby and hallway spaces. The second floor will feature a 41,000-square-foot ballroom that can be divided for various events, alongside 14,000 square feet of foyer space. Guests will be welcomed into an open atrium with a striking winding staircase leading to the upper level.

This expansion follows a major renovation that began in 2014 and was completed in 2017, costing around $140 million. That project included a redesigned lobby at the Dolphin Resort and a comprehensive update of all 2,267 guest rooms at both the Swan and Dolphin hotels. The total number of rooms expanded to 2,619 with the addition of the Swan Reserve, which opened in 2021.

In addition to the new space, Disney recently completed upgrades to the existing 330,000 square feet of meeting facilities. Enhancements to the carpeting, air walls, corridors, and breakout areas in the Swan’s communal spaces are slated for completion by summer 2025, with room renovations wrapping up by the end of this year.
