‘Aladdin’: Disney’s live-action version looks epic

 
Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” won’t arrive until May 24, 2019, but a new trailer suggests the film’s epic sweep. The camera moves over the desert before shifting into a mammoth cave where Aladdin (Mena Massoud) reaches out for the lamp.
And that’s all, folks.
“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by
Other cast members include Billy Magnussen (“Into the Woods”) as Prince Anders, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Nasim Pedrad (“Saturday Night Live,” “New Girl”) as Dalia and Marwan Kenzari (“Murder on the Orient Express”) as Jafar.

They drew on the beloved animated version from 1992 that features Robin Williams as Genie.
Ritchie has directed the new Sherlock Holmes films with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
The animated-to-live-action form worked out very lucratively for Disney last year with “Beauty and the Beast.”
