Ravenous Pig owners opening Polite Pig at Disney Springs in 2017

A new restaurant in the works for Disney Springs is taking design hints from the theme of its menu.

The Polite Pig — a sister concept to Winter Park’s ever-popular The Ravenous Pig — will feature wood-fired, smoked and grilled items, as well as fresh seasonal sides, craft beers and more when it debuts in the spring in the Town Center neighborhood of Disney Springs.

The Polite Pig is going in an end cap within Disney Springs' Town Center neighborhood.

Jupiter-based Anna Schmidt Interior Design seeks to bring some of those elements into the design of the new 5,000-square-foot, 200-seat eatery, said a news release.

Company owner Anna Schmidt has worked with the owners — local celebrity chefs James and Julie Petrakis and James Petrakis’ brother, chef Brian Petrakis — on past ventures. The couple owns The Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder, and are consultants for DoveCote French brasserie in downtown Orlando.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Petrakis family again,” Schmidt said in a prepared statement. “Their creativity in the kitchen knows no bounds, and I can’t wait to help bring their vision to life for visitors from all over the world to enjoy at Disney Springs.”

Here are some elements you can expect to see in The Polite Pig:

  • Vibrant colors
  • Wood tones
  • Crisp, light finishes
  • Antique furnishings
  • Worn brick walls
