A brand-new water park is coming to Orlando in 2017, and its name is Volcano Bay!
Tickets are rumoured to be coming on sale VERY soon, so for a taster of what you can expect if you’re planning a trip to the Sunshine State, here’s what we know about it so far:
Volcano Bay will be a “Water Theme Park”
This is the official description being used by Universal Orlando, which leads us to believe that it will be more than just another water park! Volcano Bay will be a Water Theme Park
It’s right next door to the Universal theme parks
Volcano Bay will actually be located AT Universal Orlando Resort – just a short walk or ride away from Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
Universal themselves have said that Volcano Bay will “redefine the queue experience” – so there will be no standing in long lines, no wrestling with tubes and most importantly, no waiting for the fun to begin. We can’t wait to see how they do it!
There will be plenty of thrill rides
Volcano Bay thrill ride
If your idea of fun is plummeting down a tropical volcano, navigating wild river rapids or being catapulted into pools of blue water, this is where you want to be! Volcano Bay promises us plenty of water rides for the most daring thrill-seekers.
It will be a great place for your “day off”Volcano Bay Lazy River
After a few days of hitting the theme parks, most Orlando-goers recommend taking a day out to relax and recharge. At Volcano Bay you’ll be able to unwind on the sun-drenched beaches, drift leisurely down a winding river or cool off in one of the pools
There’s something for everyone
Whether you’re with your family or friends, Volcano Bay looks set to keep everyone entertained, with multi-level playgrounds and fun for little ones, exploring hidden volcanic caves, spending quality time together in your own private cabana – and much more!
It will be split into 4 different areas
Krakatau: Within the hidden caverns and cascading waterfalls of a 200ft volcano, you’ll find 3 different body slides with surprise doors that drop out from beneath you!
River Village: Head here for family-friendly attractions surrounding a peaceful winding river.
Rainforest Village: Thrill-seekers will have the time of their lives in this adventure-drenched village.
Wave Village: The perfect place to soak in the sun and relax on the sandy shores at the base of Krakatau.
You can experience Volcano Bay from 2017!
There’s no official opening date just yet, but rumour has it that if all goes to plan, Volcano Bay will be opening around June 2017.
